Very nice model, if I may say so.
Only just got the pun on the guard's name - brain a bit slow this evening (sorry, morning!).

Re: Setting up a MyLocoSound steam soundcard

P.S Rik, What Deltang Tx and Rx do you recommend, I want to have separate TX and Rx for my Battery locos. I am thinking of getting some sound cards in the future, so would it be better with a Tx and Rx that can do them functions 1st or would it just be advisable to just get the TX. Or would the Mic...

Re: Market Day on the PLR

Love this video Rik, looks like you had a great time running on it... :thumbright: :thumbright: Yes, it was a good couple of days. Great to have a fellow operator solely devoted to running the pickup goods. That meant I could run the other trains around it - almost like running a real railway excep...

Welcome, Julie. What a great looking site for a railway. Looking forward to seeing how your railway and village develops.

Beautifully laid track. Makes even the most level track on my line look like a switchback. :o

Great saga, Peter. Even though I've seen it in the flesh, I didn't take in all the details at the time. And then, of course, there's all your Emett stuff ...........

planty wrote: Tue Nov 14, 2017 7:56 pm :D I'm not yet convinced! But any links to online articles or books/issues of 16mm/GR on track building?
Greg Hunter in Oz has fairly unique approaches to track construction which are worth a look. His idea of a styrene frog is intriguing.

Thanks for the heads-up on that, David. I'll check whether I've been underpaid, but will assume not.

Re: inspirational (?) photos

For me, it wasn't a photo, it was a video - Rails to Southwold. I can't post a link to it as it's only available commercially, but there's an equally inspiring, if somewhat poignant, Gaumont Newsreel film showing the last train on the railway available on YouTube. https://youtu.be/EHrWbNrVs_s Rik

How about 'splendid' and 'brilliant'? Though 'excellent' sums it up for me.

Thanks for the feedback, chaps. Makes it all feel worthwhile. Thanks, Peter, for the tip on signs. I'll see how long the vinyl lasts and then try your approach when they need replacing. Philipy - I need to do some landscaping at the intended site before I can take an in-situ photo. I'd like to lay s...

Re: Refreshment building

It's been a while since an update on this project. The main reason being that I have been awaiting the delivery of the laser-cut filigree panel which goes above the door. That arrived last week and so I've installed it and finished off the roof (which is only temporarily fixed in place until I finis...

Try this link Tom - you might be able to go directly into it. I've always assumed that you can view closed groups but not contribute to them - though I might be wrong - https://www.facebook.com/groups/814561258654535/

Great bit of modelling, as ever, Peter. I like the sides of the luggage rack. Just trying to identify the source - unless you're incredibly dexterous with a scalpel.
