superb work. I have wanted a railcar for some time. Yours is inspiration indeed. Captures the look and feel perfectly and you haven't finished yet.
Thanks

Re: Railway TV programmes
Rik just spotted this thread and I had what at first you may think of as a crazy idea. If we don't like the output could we make our own or somehow commission a program. When you think about it good souls like yourself are already doing this in some way with your videos that you post on youtube. If ...

Re: Winter's best laid plans
Winter plans ......... well amongst some repairs and maybe adding some stock from kits I have an over-ambitious plan to scratch build something like a Brazil or an Ellie tram. I will be learning along the way . I have built a Lady Anne from a kit so I am hoping I can make the next step. I suspect th...

Re: Batteries for an Accucraft Baguley
Hi there, Trackpower from LGB when we used to use it was 0 to 24V DC. We have a Baguley with a replacement Friog chassis and motor. It also has soundcard and lights and uses a deltang controller. It runs for ages on 10 x AA (12V) which are under the bonnet. This voltage is fine for the speed we want...

Re: What to do with these?
Hi Jim, Some ideas for you. Could they be used for special project jobs, e.g. A float in a pageant, a Christmas scene or transport for a travelling circus or funfair that may need their own customized wagons. A surreal one next, the shape to me suggests something nautical so if there ever was a worl...

Hi Gloria and Stephanie,
I am very impressed. You have ingeniously squeezed a lot into that space. Given me some ideas for our railway, thank you. How about, "Rue Barb" for the name of the yard.

Re: Back again
Welcome back Jim. Good to see that you have got some steaming in, a break from the no doubt busy time of the move. Apologies can't be certain at the moment but I may be at Llanfair with my son and if I am I will certainly look out for you to say hello.

Re: Revamping the stream
Hi Rik, thank you for posting this. Highly entertaining and informative as usual. Top notch presentation. However you have now given me even more ideas for projects to start when I have got far too many on the go already. We have a stream running under the garden but not where the railway is, maybe ...

Re: Small balcony garden railway
Egor, thanks for sharing. Your railway is inspirational. You have achieved so much in a small space. Brilliant By the way. In your first photo there is a branch heading off in the direction of your apartment so do I detect your expansion plans? Maybe you could sell the idea of a plant food or water ...

Re: What is the minimum radius for a Roundhouse lady anne?
Hi Canadiansteamer, I have a RC Lady Anne that goes around LGB Radius 1 curves. I do have problems with some of the stock going round but never the Lady Anne. I have a 45mm line that started out with quite a few radius 1 curves and some steep gradients so RC was a must. Over time I managed to get ri...

Re: Drifting trains
Wow Tom that is bonkers. It did make me laugh out loud though. it reminded me of that old joke when the station announcer says " the train coming in on platforms 5, 6 7 and 8 is coming in sideways". Best not let my son see this as he loves drifting cars on his console and will no doubt wan...

Re: Welshpool No14/Seirra Leone No85 Problems
Hi Keith, A couple of thoughts: Do you get the same symptoms when the Loco is cold i.e. Test the remote control setup longer than 3 to 4 minutes without steaming up. you should be to hear the servo motors working. When the problem occurs is there any indication that the battery power is still presen...

Re: Battery v Track power - my contribution
I have been on the same journey, started out with an LGB starter set and I am now in the process of converting everything to battery power using Deltang. I am not sure if I would have got here as easily or at all if I had not discovered this forum or Rik's blog. Thank you all, especially Rik. Dave

Wow it is mesmerising Rik. Sort of cross between Jean Michel Jarre and Patrick Moore.
If this is the latest offering from the "Slomo" stable then I don't think it will fit between the frames.
Fantastic, lots of fun, thanks Rik. Dave.
