The PTLR see's in the New Year

The 2nd of January saw the famous PTLR's New Year Steam Up. The L&B locos were probably the stars of the show, along with Gag Torton, the Killer Bunny, Bluebottle and the slippery mud which caused endless jollity!

Yes he did, for all of about 2 seconds before it was given to PTLRcecil (along with Bluebottle) to commence the filming of the follow up to diesel gala, now that WILL be an epic

And the new Gag Torton episode will be pretty good too, the special effects are even better then in previous episodes!!!

Paul's Linda looks lovely. And good to see Gag back up and driving after getting in a spot of bother after killing all those people in the little "mishap" on the SHR. Looking forward to the new episode.

Will post my pictures up as soon as I can be bothered to get them off the camera, probably tomorrow now, im shattered, had to get up that early to run my engine (mind you I had waited 6 months for this day so I didnt mind!)

Well I've got my pics kind of sorted so here they are

Lady of the Lake leaves a lovely steam plume at Sleighton Heathers

Pauls new Linda (I must compliment TonyW for the work he's done to it having now seen it in the metal, for it is absolutely supurb

)

The Archangel Jack produced some huge smoke clouds before its fire died premertualy, here it is on the PTLR north

Taliesin was hooked up the the rather authentic Ffestiniog set that me and Paul put together and produced a good performance, despite an apparant reluctance to go onto the viaduct...I really don't understand why....

2 red tender engines, Sir Robin leads Lady of the Lake

Just after midday, a great Lynton and Barnstaple train was run, with Exe leading Yeo, and 1 coal wagon (Yeo is coal fired) and 8 L&B coaches. Here they are awaiting the off

Exe and Yeo on the PTLRnorth

L&B locos with and L&B train crossing a recreation of an L&B viaduct

Roundhouse Katie "Hartside", visiting from the Forest Fields Railway

Urien and Cumberland at Coppermill junction. Unfortunatly Cumberland refused to take any gas and so didn't run

Finally, the Ffestiniog pair teamed up to haul a huge FfR train swelled with coaches supplied by William. Alas things didn't go to well, because (would you believe it!) the wind got up! No locos or coaches were damaged this time though
And despite all this fun, there were still things I didn't get photos of, like double headed Edrigs Isabelle and Lesley K flattening the CGRL with a collosal train and then being sent up a siding

And Matt's Lawley seeing how many times it could run up and down Pine Tree Road station before finding a train

A big thanks to all of the guys at the PTLR for making it such an awesome steamup, and also to all those who came.

Although a few carriage roofs did get rather muddy!

Now that was funny, I've seen smaller traffic jams on the m6 after that! oh and whos fault was it .........

Corrrr, just swap Pine Tree Viaduct for a slate embankment, and that Ffesto photo would look absolutely spot on!

Hahahahaha!!!

No I beleive it is only in semi ratty state as the engine has to fall off completely and take a few carriages with it (completely distroying one or two). Mind you it is a DMU or sum such so engine/ carriage is the same thing.

A most enjoyable day of trains,

many many thanks to the PTLR for hosting an excellent event.
Lots of Loco's, lots of trains and lots of people walking around precariously.

They could do an American themed event sometime and call the line "Muddy Flats Rail Road" for reasons that will be obvious to those in attendance. lol

Because it was the Lady of the Lake who reached out from the water holding Excalibur to give to King Arthur
