OK, a bit more progress at Llanfair. ./myff/1590507/DSCN3499.jpg ./myff/1590508/DSCN3501.jpg ./myff/1590510/DSCN3503.jpg ./myff/1590511/DSCN3509.jpg ./myff/1590530/DSCN3510.jpg Need to think about point control fairly urgently. (Being home made, the points lack Peco's over-centre spring.) Word of th...

Yes, very smart. Would you be able to post a track plan - I'm forever curious about such things?

This is looking fantastic, really enjoying watching the line grow. Love the way you've incorporated the tree into your station site. I'm looking forward to the next installment... Thanks... Couldn't see much alternative to going round the tree, though I will no doubt regret it in due course. My jus...

Yes, the idea would be for those points to be sprung. Diagram was drawn in a bit of a hurry and the 'S' didn't come out quite right.

Coo! Your rate of construction far out-strips mine, though we're getting there now.

I'll dig the point-building photos out when I get a moment, though mine are all built using Peco components.

For completeness, here's a sketch of how I see the Tanyperth area panning out:

Just read the whole thread Richard! Great work! Any chance you could give me a lesson on track work? Glad folks are enjoying it - so am I! The left hand side of the garden operates on the basis that I cut all the vegetation down once a year, and it grows back the next; the trackbed will be forced t...

Meanwhile at Tanyperth, the other end of the line just now... when we bought the house we inherited a "pond" (half barrel), which then a couple of years back gave up the idea of being watertight. This is just after lunch on Thursday: ./myff/1588828/DSCN3418.jpg And 16 minutes after that ph...

Nice work Richard - looking forward to this all getting "settled in" :D The rather rampant growth on this side of the garden will see to that over quite a bit of this section, especially nearer the house! It would all have been, shall we say, somewhat easier if I'd got this section (espec...

Crumbs, is it really ten weeks since I posted here? Work has continued on the construction of Llanfair station. Half the track layout is down, and the trackbed for the rest just awaits the felt. Here the bits are just laid out loosely to see if it all fits... ./myff/1588816/DSCN3039.jpg ./my...

Looks good and videos work nicely in Chrome on my Nexus 7, Chris - another new way to use mobile data on the way to work...!

You need to make the pilgrimage to Llechfan yourself some time, would be interested to see what a Summerlands video of the live would look like.

Hi, Not Coventry, but not far away either... our Elmdon Heath Light Railway is (surprise!) in Elmdon, Solihull - just a few minutes off the A45, near the airport. The line is still under construction, but there has been good progress in the last month, which I must update the forum on shortly. Hopin...

Wow! Its been quite a while since I last posted on this thread. The plants have all grown again and the line is greener than ever. With a few day off work, the sun out and jobs in the workshop complete I had a wander out to do some weeding and to boil some water. As a few of you may know i have aqu...

I sometimes wonder if I woushould be modelling the Lough Swilly in 15mm/ft. But I just did the sums, and Owencarrow viaduct would be around 17 metres long. That's probably a bit much for our garden, especially as it would need really quite a bit of bleak heather scenery to give the context. We'll st...

You don't happen to have the GRS part number, do you? (Is it NB204AN "GWR style alphanumberic 5mm"?) No worries if you don't have the info.

Really lovely. Can you share any more on how you laminate the roof - what solvent you use, and how you get it done neatly, etc.? (I'm a bit useless at these things with plasticard - confess I normally buy the plastic roof mouldings from GRS.)

Yup, that's brilliant - ideal. Many thanks for the photo.
