Love this build, although only just catching on. :)

What sort of firing are you going to use? I can't help thinking that a small, short combustion chamber would be of some help? I don't think it would take away its original looks too much, but would help with maintaining steam.

I would suggest that it depends what you want out of the loco. The roundhouse Millie and Bertie are manual as standard but can be easily be converted to R/C. As previously mentioned the accucraft engines are also the same. The Accucraft engine in my opinion is too large and bulky whereas the Millie ...

So where have all the Roundhouse Stanley's ended up?

So where have all the Roundhouse Stanley's gone? If like to see how many have turned up with our fellow forum members. I collected mine on 12.12.14 from ANG last Friday. Anyone else like to post a picture and build number? Here is No 30. Victoria Maroon with R/C http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae...

A new LGB toy coach rake - but for what and why?

Hi guys, I have decided, with a new loco coming up within the next few months, that I should document all the progress of the new 'toy' coaches into something a little individual to match a new engine. It all started at the Peterborough show with a 'steal' on the m2m stands. This is coach 1 Essentia...

great looking rake of carriages - will the salloon be the same scheme or contrasting as some others have done? Thanks Zach. ;) Initially I was going to do it exactly the same as the others, but having spoken to a few about it they suggest to do something a little different. I will still use the thr...

So now it is time to finish off what we started (sorry I forgot to update this thread). The rake has grown with the purchase of another member, more on that later. The colour scheme has now been finalised, and on reflection, looks a little better than the teak and maroon, a little more ‘narrow gauge...

Williamfj, probably not a bad thing to do. I'll go and look for the vacuum or something ;) In all seriousness the failure is not that impressive. I took the Millie on to the bench to do a boiler flush out initially, because the sight glass was clogged somewhere. I then started to small an electrical...

Thanks for the comments chaps. :)

Indeed, the cab looks a little smarter. Just one of the few things that need doing on the engine. I did manage to misplace three out of the four spectacle windows somehow whilst doing it though. They'll turn up eventually!

ChristianC, glad you have your problem sorted. At least it was an easy fix. :) We must also remember that Roundhouse have reduced the diameter of the hole in the lubricator in conjunction with changing to a thinner oil... When did this change occur? The operating instructions for my 1995 RH Billy re...

Right then, after many a successful steaming of recent months the Millie has finally had enough. Historically, sat ready for off at the AGM at Peterborough April 2014. http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae350/pingu_turbo/Live%20Steam/Peterborough%20AGM%2012-4-14/S1810015_zps8d1d2145.jpg And enjoying...

Personally I'd go with a new one too, as a matter of safety over anything else. I agree that it would be nice to get it working, but if your loco were mine, I would have a doubt in my mind if it were reading correctly/at all.

A few small but crucial few updates. Prior to the annual AGM at Peterborough a few folk had said to me ' why not enter your tram in for MOTY competition. Basically the 16mm association holds several classes, of which Suffolk Punch would fall into the Roundhouse category, being largely based on those...

Andy, I have read the whole journey from front to back and hasn't this little Edrig come a long way (since 2008!)? I have enjoyed the whole thing and I am rooting for you to get her going now. Good luck and get a 12v battery on the blower,   give it some more power (without sucking the fire...

I am amazed that no one has commented on this thread until now Tony. I will echo what I have said on the UMF. Nice set of modifications and I am looking forward to seeing more and the fabrication of the lubricatior.

Thank you for sharing, they are a valuable set of photos for good reference. :)

Sorry to hear of your troubles Peachbottom, I have heard of over-gauged wheels once before.

Do you have any photos of the loco assembled? Have you any modifications on the cards?
