I think when you use Macs a lot you do get used to the speed and the ease they do things, because even the pc's at work seem slow to me! Compared to Open source and OS X operating systems yes Windows is the worst of the lot for being power hungry, however, since 2006 'Macs' have used the same archi...

I'm sorry that updating did not work - did you do the firmware on the Reader as well BTW? I'ts a bit difficult to help further without being in front of it all. These along with the rest of them are a bit of an 'iPhad' in my humble opinion and really does not compare to having a real book (this is c...

The following might help:

http://support.sony-europe.com/computin ... &m=PRS-300

If you don't have the PRS-300 just choose the model you have.

This is where I get confused with coal firing. Sometimes the loco's are really noisy with loads of smoke and then you see them in other video's where they are quiet with no smoke coming out of them at all?

Best coal firing yet?

Very tempting, just wish they could be fitted with chuff pipes!

Matt of Berry Hill Works has kindly taken on the job of fitting the Swift Sixteen spectacle plates for me because I don't have the time (yes that's my excuse!) Meanwhile, I had a go at spray painting the steam dome on the SL as I did not really like the brass look: /myff/tom_tom_go/SANY0767.jpg I ne...

It's great that people take the time and effort to explain stuff like this that others might otherwise have to pay to have done.

Great job!

I have learned that having some sort of layout is better than none at all and it's very satisfying to build because it does not feel like a massive job that you will never finish! I spent ages trying to fit the 'dream' OO layout in the loft, however, without an expensive conversion it just was not g...
