Re: Piko BR80 with 2 passenger cars

Yes , welcome to the forum. I rate Piko my mechanisms quite highly. That loco does seem to have plenty of spare pulling power.

Re: Sam small layout

Absolutely nothing wrong with a freight only line. A lot more interesting to run than passenger services to my mind.

Good to see the line coming along.

Very enjoyable. I don't remember seeing the Plymobil DMU before. But then I do sometimes have memory lapses..... I think 🤔

interesting layout

Not strictly a garden railway, but the locos are radio controlled.

Really impressed by how it's operated. Fully signalled with three signalmen operating six boxes and five drivers following their trains around and obeying the signals.

A very impressive set of locos. Looks like a fluorescent green de Winton lurking in the photos.....

Yet another de Winton

I can't remember if I uploaded some images of a de Winton (ish) loco which I downloaded from Thingiverse..... DSCN3591.JPG I'd converted it from 32mm gauge to 45mm gauge and given it two cylinders v the one in the download, but I still wasn't happy with it. If you recall, I took a trip to Caernarfon...

I would love to be able to invest in something like this but, unfortunately, the household authorities (or the budget) won't allow it.....

Re: Have I got a problem?

I don't know, but I suspect the blips are actually to do with a conversion from analogue readings from the thermistor to the digital values handled by the software. I imagine that in reality there is a steady and uniform drop in temperature from start to finish.

Re: Weed slashing train

Looks promising. I see Melbourne Sparks put a cover over his, presumably to protect the mechanism from the debris. If it was extended backwards, it could maybe also protect the loco... ??
