Right....... Here goes. This space will contain my build of my rail, but I'm warning you. That will not happen for a very long time! Negotiations are underway with the domestic authoruties , and I have no money. Anyway, back to the line. The line will start at one end of the garden at Chandos Junction, the junction being a small branch line to a quarry. The main line will continue down to Woodfields Village. Then it will carry on to the last station on the line, which I haven't decided the name of yet. Please give me some ideas, and I'm pondering of scrapping the quarry. I don't know...... Oh well. Oh, and this line is for fun and pleasure of running, not to be accurate! I sadly know next to nothing about railways, but I do know that my railway will be narrow gauge (32mm gauge, 16mm scale). Oh, and I cantor actually guarantee that there will be a railway, but I'm keeping hopes up

Hi Woodfields Light,

I'm just starting out in 16mm too. Like you, no planning permission and no cash but great intentions! I'm just about to start surveying for my line to pin down some possibilities (and impossibilities!).

your hopes and dreams will keep it alive, that's probably the way some real preservation lines started.

Same boat here, just bought a house with a sloping back garden composed at the moment of nothing but fill and small boulders! Permits, money, time, and actual logistics/engineering are all againstme at the moment, but I am not worried.

Haha, no, in this case I was just referring to the female stakeholder. I plan on trying all the usual arguments, like how it will encourage me to work in the garden...

do people think track shack is a good place to buy a easy to build kit, for carriges or freight?

I bought my frieght stock kits from Brandbright, might take a while to reach you though! IP Engineering is another good one, check out their Ezee range - cheap and easy to build if you are just starting out.

Houstan Gate (not sure if I've spelt that right from memory) do some lovely basic wagons. The flat bed is ideal for building your own body and it won't break the wagon. Saving you money for track or track bed.
Make that Houstoun Gate!
