coaches and paintjobs

I have my birthday coming up, and i have decided to get some coaches for my Lady Anne.
But i have a few problems.
the ones i originally wanted from brandbright arent being made till later in the year, because they are making ffestiniog stuff.

Another option is the IP roundhouse 4 comp coaches, these have the right body, but painting all those little oval pannels neatly could be frustrating.
and also i think the coaches sit to high.

the final option, and the most likely is to get a couple of IP VOR Matchboard Passenger Bogie Coach's, but would these look ok in red and cream?? or shoudl i leave them natural. which also look quite nice.

I'd go for the VofR coaches Andy, the WHR(C) has matchboard opens painted red & cream.

the VOR coaches it is,
They are my fave in my lsit.

What paint should i use, lineside delights do acrylic, but as you and pete were going on about how i shouldnt use acrylic,.....

do i use a brush or spray

Personally I'd recommend spraying, it gives a much better finish.

Ffestiniog use Mercedes Red, I've used Plasiti-Kote 'Vanilla' for cream on my coach.

Those Vof R's should look nice with that Lady Anne, with regard to paiting, brushing is easier but sparaying gives a better finish as long as you do it in the right conditions, ie in a heated spray booth (ok carboard box and hairdryer), they will look nice in red and cream though

I bought a load of plasti-kote for the fletcher from the range and worked out about £5 cheaper than halfords

Just a few more things.

cream and red, or white and red??

What paint is best for painting cabs in cream, and where can i get the paint, halfords dont do cream, i am not going to use acrylic, as i should know by now thanks to pete and will

Cream or Off-White, if you paint it white it'll get dirty far too easily, take white cars for example.

B&Q sell Plasticote

quite a lot of places do fortunately

I would go for the VoRs, I want some myself... I am looking for some decent coaches for xmas pressies!

i have decided not to get the vor coaches, as they are about 20mm to low, which would look silly behind my lady anne.

So i shall get R/H Three Compartment Coach kit's

and some other little parts for various other things
