Echo trains

Post by listerboy » Sun Sep 30, 2012 3:25 am

Hi

I remember seeing an american outline 45mm train set a few Christmases ago, it was made by Echo. For the price it would have given a working chassis and a few truck chassis. I was into 4mm then. Now that I could use it I can't see any!

Did anybody ever use one of these sets and build a new body on the loco/wagons?

Thanks
Brian

Certainly did :D I used a Scientific Trains loco as a basis for my 'Emily', but there isn't much difference between an Echo and a Scientific Trains loco when all is said and done.

This is a modified Locolines 'Mammoth' cardboard kit and I had no problems at all with getting the motorblock to fit once I'd used a razor saw to trim away all the uneeded plastic.
