That's very good. how do you get it to stay on the track when going round those bends are high speed?

My mamods don't have any form of speed control, so I get a few derailments on my line.

indeed, mamods are on or off.
i can get my mamod to go at a perfect speed, but it changes when it gets more pressure.
and i find that the front is heavier than the back, so if it jumps, then the back lifts up off the rails

That dosn't happen on my mamods. Unless they're pulling a heavy train, they tend to travel at the scale speed of sound, and then fly of the bends.

Talking of scratching paint, a couple of years ago, me and ptlrcecil visited a railway in morcombe. One of ptlrcecil's engines, an expensive roundhouse one, flew down a gradient a off the line, srtaching the paintwork up badly.

Yeah, I've just remembered. It was a Roundhouse 'Argyll', and it's lining had been done by a professional company for quite a bit of money :( .

Great video Andy, is this a permanent set-up or just a bit off fun? The biggest problem with the mamod track is that the joints doint join the rails, thus creating more oppurtunity to de-rail.

Your railway scathed my cylinder also Andy  . I had mine fall a few inches off a concrete ledge in to slate waste and it chipped some paint of the tank, needn't worry really it's a working steam engine, this type of thing happens.

Can you persuade her to let you build a permerntent line? I managed to persuade my mum to let me use a disused rockery for my first line, partly because nobody used it, and partly, because she was wanting to make that part of the garden nicer, as it was right next to the car park for our B&B.

and i dont want it now, i want one of the mj engineering bagnalls. so i am selling it to pay for parts for it.
