Be very wary of any postings by riveresk cos I have strong suspistion that this is my sister Kathryn! River Esk is her favorite engine at Ravenglass, (mine is Northern Rock but I think its best that this engine keeps a low profile untill something good happens regarding a certain north eastern bank!)

A while back, my brother jono, who hates trains, got an account with this forum, and began posting silly posts in the introduction section. However, he got bored after 5 mins, and hasn't come back on since.

Thats a good thing to have a family member that's also into trains. None of my family is in to trains :( , but my parents do encourage me from time to time.

This is my 200th post. Yeah :D :D :D :D !

Well done on 200 postings :) it was always obvious I was going to be into railways, both mum and dad were volunteers at Ravenglass and dad still is. riveresk has just sent me an email saying that she would not do anything as immature as send in silly posts

Wow! All three of my brothers are annoying, anti-railway, and either support Newcastle or Manchester United.

Ah yes, I do quite like Manchester United, but I like railways more, to the extent that when I had to do my A level geography coursework, I managed to persuade my friends to do the River Mite, I said it would be an easy river the measure, of course my main objective was to get up to see my favorite railway (sorry SillyBilly, the Ffestiniog has to come second for this one)

I use to go up to the Ratty quite a lot when I lived in Cumbria, but since I now live in Durham, it's not so easy. However, I'm still remaining a member of the socity, so when I move back to cumbria in a few years time, I can go volenterring again.

Laalratty, have you met some called Gwyn Merphet up on the Ratty? He's the station Master at Irton Road station.

oh yeah, I read about the gala in the Ratty magazine. I'm not to sure if I'll be able to make it, but if it's on about the same time as my trip to the isle of man, I might be able to make my dad make a little detour :D.

Yeah. Aparently, garden railways is a very popular hooby in the north of england. An interesting fact that I've found out from my grandparents is that when they were my age, there were two 7 1/4 inch gauge railways in the village run by two men (sadly, both lines are long since gone :( )

It certainly seems to be a rather rampant hobby in my hometown, lol. 8)
