I'm sure we have all seen these listed on eBay.
I've just taken delivery of two units, and I'm very glad I bought them. They come in very handy if:
1) You are testing a loco
2) If you are running in a loco under supervision
3) If you don't have a railway!
These units are made from aluminium t-section; miniature free running ball bearings pressed onto aluminium rod and the whole assembly is held together by some nuts and washers. Don't led the word aluminium put you off, yes it does make the units very light but it is very strong.
The benefit of these units over other rolling roads is that these are fully adjustable! Also one of the West Sussex guys couldn't run his Mamod on a JPE rolling road, so the HHW units will be better because they are low friction ball bearings as opposed to turned brass rod running on steel pins.
These units are certainly a good buy, just to have around 'just in case.'
