First test steaming of my kit built MH Ogwen!
My kit built, by me, Maxwell Hemmens Ogwen passed his first steaming test tonight. Chassis is very tight and will need several runs on the blocks before running in the garden. I will get some pics on the next steam up, to busy checking things and making sure all is good to worry bout pics this time. I plan to get a Roundhouse Linda in the Penrhyn version as a stable mate. Cheers Mike
Aye Ogwens are meant to be quite smooth runners. Pics?

A nice loco Mike, my friend has an Ogwen from many years ago, it still runs sweetly. I'm looking forward to seeing some photo's.

I hope I will be happy with it, it was quite expensive to aquire living on this side of the pond. Everything else I have is German prototype and I could have gotten an LGB 2-10-2 for what I paid for the Ogwen(Darn exchange rate!). It will be some time before we will have the outdoor line built. We will see if I can hang on to it long enough. But as with almost everything I have, it can be for sale at the right price. Cheers Mike

If someone would like to give it a new home, I have decided to sell it and pick up something more inline with the rest of my German trains. I would like to get 650 UK pounds out of it, or somewhere close to it. Its never seen track, just the one test steaming on blocks. I am looking for a newer example of the LGB Harz 2-6-2T (version without the track skates and newer style valve gear) and I would trade even for a nice example. Mike cadetpwr@hotmail.com

Even during my studies in school and college afterwards, I stay active when I could with my garden railway and the club I was a member of. I felt it was a needed diversion from the stress of school. Alas even after graduation with a degree in computer aided drafting in 1993, I was unable to get into the field due to a down turn in the US economy. So much has changed now from the way I learned to do computer drafting, I would have to start all over again with school to relearn it. I am hoping someone between this forum and the Gscalemad group will give Ogwen a good home. Mike
