IP Jessie Gearbox
Can anyone help or offer advice please with replacing the gearbox on a rather nice IP Engineering Jessie? It appears to worn out, clicking and stuttering with intermittent drive. Thank you. Tony

Unfortunately, it's a well documented weakness of the early Jessies. I think the gearbox was improved on later models so you could contact Ivan to see if he has an updated replacement.
After my third failed gearbox, I completely replaced the mechanism with a USAt motor block. A good reliable option if you run on 45mm gauge track, but not for 32mm I'm afraid.

Both Ivan, and others, offer replacements for these..
You may have to buy a complete motor and gearbox, but worth it for peace of mind.
There are usually different voltage motor offerings, as well.
