The other project I made a start on was to adapt some 1:24 scale dolls' house "Tiffany" table lamps for LED illumination. I'd got some 3mm "bright white" LEDs and some heat shrink, so that one leg of the LED could be cut off short and soldered to the top of the metal lamp standard - the other leg was covered in heatshrink and passed through the drilled out hole down the middle of the lamp standard. Solder a wire to the bottom of the standard (which appears to be made of brass) and connect to a battery, and Bob's your uncle!

shows how the job was done - you can just see the red heatshink showing at the bottom of the lamp. As the lamp will be fixed down to a table, it'll all be hidden.

shows the lamp alight - it actually looks better than this!
