Heat proof sticky pads

Post by tom_tom_go » Thu Jun 29, 2017 9:06 pm

I want to stick a Rx to metal, however, because it is a coal fired boiler it does get quite hot.

I have tried servo pads and velcro but it just melts after a couple of runs.

What do you guys recommend please as an alternative?

Don't know whether it's heat proof but have used some Gorilla double sided tape roll this . It's got the adhesion but not tested under heat. It is a pad on a reel and sticks like the proverbial. I assume a coal boiler gets VERY hot??

Are you trying to stick the receiver to the actual boiler? That doesn't sound like a good plan, if you are.

if you want to stick it to something hot .get intumescent mastic witch is fire /heat resistant this should work .or put a bit of intumescent mastic then a small bit of fireproof plasterboard or hardiebacker (I can send you a bit if you want ) then no heat should get though and wont melt anything hope this helps

Going to try the Tamyia pads as the silicon melted on the first run unfortunately...
