Flanged bearings

Post by tom_tom_go » Fri Mar 03, 2017 9:08 am

I am looking for the type IP Engineering use for 3mm axles (1/8").

They do not sell them separately, I have asked in the past.

Thanks,

Tom

Do you have a picture of the sort of thing you are after? And do you have the dimensions?

I ask as I might be able to knock some up on the lathe for you if they are simple and quick to do? How many are you after, depends on that as I don't want to be there all day doing it, lol ;)

Try Roundhouse or Essel engineering.
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer!

Houston Gate Locomotive Works (HGLW) do flanged oilite bearings. Bronze bearings, flanged, £2.00 set of four. As pictured and listed on their website under Accessories. I have Used these since before David the current owner took over the company from Michael (Busted Bricks).

I think these are what I am after:

They have the same dimensions as the IP one's I have.

To be fair, as much as I would happily make these for you, I could not even begin to make them any where near this efficiently. For the sake of £2.80, its just worth buying a pack of 12 from them as it would take me a couple of hours to knock these up. ;)
