Starting again?!

I've had a quick look around and there are still a familiar few faces!
I was a, sort of, regular contributor here a few years ago.. Sadly my involvement with 16mm all but died after my small track at my parents was lifted and my involvement in the 16mm layout at ADMES stopped. My interest dragged me away from 16mm live steam and into collecting toy and model steam, currently I am just finishing a 2" traction engine and have been successfully been running a 31/2" Tich I rebuilt with the help of a good friend.

Now that money is a bit tighter than it has been in the past my interest has been peaked again in 16mm by the much lower prices of kits and more suppliers of the cheaper stuff.. Back when I first got into 16mm IP engineering was pretty well your lot, or if you fancied a go at a card kit, Locolines..

I hope to show my efforts in this thread.. I'll drag up some old images soon and attach them.. The 16mm running scene in Hampshire seems a bit dead?! Can someone prove me wrong? The Hampshire area groups newsletters list only goings on at miniature and narrow gauge lines locally.

The only picture I can dig up of my old line at my parents.. It was only a loop of mamod track.. I always wanted to extend it with a branch line off down the wall by the side of the house... When I moved out it deteriorated and the track became too fragile.. It was lifted circa '12/'13

The loco still exists and is shown at the bottom.. What you see in that picture is what exists of my previous foray into 16mm.. Hopefully I can get back into it all again!

Rapier passes the 'Kilns' with two skip wagons.


Rapier as seen today, many bits have been added and taken away over the years. It's not run in anger for a while now.. Maybe it's time to replace him

It's a hard hobby to shake, once you've been bitten, as Tom said that little loco looks good there on the curve.
