That does have a rather more realistic throb to it then some other live diesels I've seen video of, very nice. Although I'm not sure everyone would appreciate the fumes!
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Even better knowing all of the engineering that went into it! You must be very satisfied with the result.

I love it, when are you going into production with R/C versions Dave? ;)

The smoke smells lovely :D The neighbour had washing on the line, and didn't complain

Oh yes, homebuilds are very satisfying

Certainly, I'm thinking of going into production. How does GBP500 sound?

Best wishes,
Dave

IMHO it's cheap for something of that quality and complexity. I haven't the skills, tools or knowledge to even think of making something like that. Whilst I'm a steam enthusiast I admire and respect what you've acheived.

I take my hat of to what you've acheived.

Ian

That's got me really tempted. I hadn't even considered live diesel before, but I can really appreciate it now!

I would be interested at that price assuming it can be done in 32mm
Contact me if you do decide to go into production.

I'm with Simon all the way. It's made me reallise that part of my resistance to diesel is that it isn't - if you see what I mean. If I want a battery or electric loco then that's fine but a diesel body on an electrically powered chasis isn't 'real' in my mind. What you have created most definitely is. I'm a devoted steam man but at that price I could be tempted for a genuine diesel.

Nice work and well done.

Waiting with keen interest as to the seriousness of a production model?? Have always wanted to give one of these a go, even have an engine that I acquired with the intention of building one of these, alas I haven't acquired the skills yet
Jon

Have fun steaming

I don't think 32 mm is do-able with my design :)

45 mm is the garden gauge 8)

Dave

I am 45mm and if you are to sell any of these, then please do keep me in mind. What sort of time scale would you think it would be?

Cheers
Steve

Do you think you could shrink the outline down to 16mm scale?

I don't know if it would be of any help to you since you are on the other side of the globe from me but I have recently been getting quotes for various laser cutting and CNC turning jobs. I also know some far east suppliers of gears, bearings etc. Feel free to contact me.

Michael
