The other advantage of the moulded seats is that you can cast a plaster one. This allows you to position FIMO sculpted passengers on the seat and bake them in the oven, so the slump into the seat to fit it.

On lighter coaches where I wished to increase weight the plaster ones may have a place in actual use as well. I used plastic because of the high weight of the Cheddar steel sides.

Using the Maplin granules is easy. You drop them in boiling water, take them out when as hot as you can possible handle. Then kneed until one piece, stretch and feed into the deepest part of the mould, firming down with pressure then feed in the rest cotinuously to feel the rest of the mould. Hard to describe but easy to do. Then in the fridge to increase turnround time. A seat every 20minutes, with 15 of them doing other projects.

Spray with car spray plastic primer then colour of your choice to simulate leather.
