RC issues

I'm hoping that this is just battery life as the loco have previous no issues with radio control.

I steamed her up for the firs time in about a week and a half and intially she was running fine, save a little bit of priming I've come to expect after a prolonged period of non-running.

However, once I coupled her up to some wagons (again, previously done with no issues) and tried to start her off her radio equipment completely locked both valve gear and regulator.

To explain better I've recorded the issue.

After consulting the instructions I'm hoping it's just low batteries but before e-mail roundhouse I thought I get your opinions on the matter.

Get yourself some rechargeables so you know they are fully charged.

Looks like low power as when you turn it on the second time the servo moves slowly.

I got me some years ago but the rc came with some pre packed one and I've been using them since march.

I'm gonna see what they do over the weekend.

Looks like low battery power, the small movement is the recovery.Sanyo Eneloop batteries are great as they hold their charge..

Probably a factor of your battery charger, particularly if it is one of the cheap fast or ultra fast type. To prevent overcharging these chargers stop the charge when it gets to a set threshold but if you are charging 4 cells at the same time then it stops when the first cell reaches the threshold, so the other 3 cells may not be fully charged.

Best to use a trickle charger which reduces the chance of overcharging. Disadvantage with the high capacity batteries is it can take a long time to trickle charge them with the basic trickle chargers.
