Gazelle used to hava trailor mad from an ex london double-decker horse tram, later the body work was replaced by the body of the Wolseley-Siddeley when she was overhauled in 1936/7, Freight being worked by what ever was available and deemed "safe" to pass over Melverley bridge.

Would it be the 3' line that ran south from Bideford through Great Torrington to Peter's Marland that I cannot remember the name of? It was built along the course of Lord Rolle's Canal converted to SG in 1925, and was still conveying china clay in 1980/1.

Basically, the two bad seasons that resulted from the miner's strike were enough to finish the LCLR off on its original site. The last couple of seasons the line only seem to be busy when there was a car boot sale at South Sea Lane.

Hmmmm, if you had mentioned Co Durham rather than Yorkshire I'd have said Marchlyn, but a bit more stuck with this.
