Nice video (as always) but where did the Harry Potter music come from?

Cracking stuff. Wish we could have been there, but it was my Sunday on duty (nice quiet one, unlike yesterday- had a nasty)

I just wanted to counterpoint the intro track, I thought it captured a bit of the cold, drizzley atmosphere! ;)

My collection ~ I thought the "Fight back you coward, fight back!" soundbite was perfect for Britomart dragging Pheonix!

Looks like a lot of fun. Would love to visit some time but (repeating question from a couple of weeks ago) Sundays are very hard for us. Is there ever a turnout of forum members at Butterley on Saturdays?

There's not often a turnout of Forum members on a Saturday (for that matter, there aren't all that many Butterley members that turn out on a Saturday) but if you decided to come over and gave a couple of week's notice, I for one would turn up, open the club hut and put the kettle on for you...................

Ah, thanks - and Brian too. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the dates for those, and try to get along if I possibly can, otherwise may call on Brian's kind help another time.

With respect to the video on the last page, I do like the safety valve on that light blue Mamod. Where did that come from? It looks like it even works better than the normal one, and it certainly looks good.

The safety valve on Britomart was made by our own DLRdan, and they are very impressive and very well made! :D

The first Saturday of the month we aim to run.
There's usually me and one or two other Butterley members.

A couple of pics from today:

Only Pheonix was sent out today, Britomart was kept back so that I didn't break it for next sunday

Image

There's still rather a lot of snow around

Image

Image

and some parts of the line were unpassable due to ice!

Image

But that didn't stop Pheonix attempting to get round

We also had a visit from a friendly cat

Sir Haydn was also around

Some great shots there James (especially the ones of Pheonix where you can't see the meccano!).

Really miffed about missing the steam-up, sitting in a warm restaurant eating a sunday roast followed by PROPER Bakewell pudding & custard was a poor substitute!
Domestic harmony has been maintained so I suppose the sacrifice was worth it

OK, so it may not be sunday evening, but yesterdays trip to Butterley ended up with me doing a 25 mile cycle trip due to engineering works

Image

Pheonix idles with the blowdown valve left ajar

Image

the brilliant weather conditions really did show up all the steam and smoke plumes!

Image

Image

Image

Britomart had a run as well!

Image

Image

Image

and it wasn't the only mamod around either!

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

and just before I left, this was let loose!

Thanks for the pic's James - looks like it was a cracking day! :D
(It's been so long since I've been down that I'd better have a "note" ready! ;) )
