And now what you've been waiting for. Me doing another silly pose/face whilst sitting in the (nearly) complete carriage.
It really is very comfortable!

Took Madge out for a steam on the club track the other day, couldn't resist a few photos...

Then the next day it was back into dad's garden and she was coupled the carriage with body and all...

Gives a good idea of the scales of things, Madge is here a 1/3rd scale model of a roughly 1/4 scale model of a standard gauge tank engine, running with a 1/3 scale model of a miniature railway carriage...

Have you thought about trying to make a complete circuit running around the back or through the shed / tunnel?

well, the garden is 20ft wide. Madge, being an 0-6-0, will take a minimum of probably about 15 feet which means that I can't possibly fit a circuit in which is a shame. Also a problem is that round the back of the shed is someone else's garden! What I'll probably do is once this track has a proper bed is introduce some points and build a few wagons and have a micro layout...

If you go to the Micro Layout Design Gallery tab that should be useful.

Thank you for that interesting link. I'm definitely having a think on putting in some points for shunting...
Bought a few bits at ally pally...
Image
Mainly stuff for an injector. And I finally found some O rings of the right size so I can finally have a whistle valve which doesn't constantly leak!
This caught my eye at ally pally...
Image
Apparently its for a portable railway in east anglia...
Anyway, back to dad's garden where I realised with a slight gradient the railway could go up and out of the garden and then along the side of the house...
Image
Image
Image
Then round the corner, through the neighbours' front gardens, along the A 14.....

Been doing a bit of work on the loco recently including repacking the pistons and glands, I'll repaint the boiler lagging soon. The carriage is coming along well. Work this weekend included boxing in the lower foot-well area, attaching buffers to the other end (Yes! Buffers at Both ends!!) and lining the carriage sides with acrylic gold paint.

Now debating weather or not to buy an ROR riding truck chassis, They seem good value for money and ride very well. Certainly better than what I could possibly build.
