Thanks. I know there's nothing wrong with experimenting. I think I've made my little Agnus unique with the cab alone. I don't think there are any others with a wood effect floor

The main repaint has begun today. Despite a small issue of when a paint pot was being opened & exploding everywhere, ruining an afternoons work, it went quite well

Great news. The Repaint is nearly finished!!!! Here's a few photos

The engine has been painted in a gloss Ferrari red from the Revell range. I wasn't too sure whether it would good ok but now, I think it was a very good decision as the paint is really set off with the black tank tops & lining. Not forgetting the wheels which are now black with white rims. Combine those features with the cab & you have one unique baby & I'm glad that I own her. There are only 3 jobs left & when they are done, this engine will be a pleasure to show off

I test steamed Agnus to see if her lovely coat of paint stayed on & I'm delighted to say that she's still looking smart. Some of the paint on one of the front wheels do rub off slightly but it wasn't a problem to put right. Now, I ask a question. Is there any other Mamod on earth painted in Ferrari red?

When I get more money she'll get her name plates. Not too sure about lettering though but my idea was to create a distinctive & unique engine & I think I've done that

Yes she is now officially unique. Its first paint job in 30 years and totally distinct. Any chance of some video of it in action?

Ironically it too came from Scotland!!

Actually, I bought my Mamod from down there in England. She just lives in Scotland with me. I'll have to get nameplates for her if you're painting yours in Ferrari red. If we ever meet up at an event, I'd at least like to take my baby home instead of kidnapping someone else's

I've gave her a few test runs on a small section of track & I am learning to get a better feel whilst operating her. I can actually make her behave & she is very well mannered for a Mamod. Quite controllable she is too. I took a few video clips of her running stationary & her tests on the small bit of track. Once I can get a few clips of her on a proper garden railway

Mine's pretty unique; the fellow who owned her shortened the bodysides, cut off the fronts and soldered them back to the shortened tanks, cut slots in the combichamber and cut a arch in the cabfront to fit it over the combichamber. Then the back was replaced by extensions from a second body ad a brake van back, so no fear of getting mixed up

Yeah, Mine's more standard. I prefer the original body shape but I do like the idea for the cab back. When I get more money, I may get another Mamod or MSS & give it more modifications

Hey dudes. First post in ages I know but I want to ask a favour & it is related to Agnus by the way. Thing is, she needs a driver. I don't have the skills to make a figure. Why not buy a ready made one I hear you ask. Well, I don't think anybody produces these guys

Yep. I'm wanting one of these chaps only with a nice drivers' cap(in blue of course). He has to be able to fit on Agnus' footplate but I'm wanting him at a scaled 6' height (or 96mm). It's a tad too big to fit in the cab BUT, I want his head poking out of the side of the cab. Now either I've gone slightly mad in wanting a Sergal engine driver but that's what I do. I like to hancockify things. If you guys can't do it, can you point me in the direction of someone who can for a reasonable price. Thanks

Get a figure who looks like a driver then cut off the head and replace with a dog head from britains farm series then replace the hands with paws.

VERY early days yet, but I couldn't resist it! It must be the medication I'm on!

Don't worry - the coveralls will be "gone"! (I've already removed the little fingers so he's only got 4 claws - I've left the "opposable thumb"

)

If you don't want him when I've done, I'm sure I can find a role for him in an upcoming T.I.T.S movie
