Gwydion was first steam loco out, as I predicted the rush ahead and didn't want to get involved!

Unfortunatly by the end of Gwydion's run, there were already traffic jams starting

Meanwhile, SLR midge was having another terrible day with the SLR Talyllyn train

Guillimot storms the spiral...
Alas, this was the high point as midge soon found the wheels coming off his afternoon....

LMS jools' Welshpool and Llanfair train got another outing, and suprised everyone by making it up the spiral

One Darj...

Two Darj...

Three Darj!

Darjeeling spotters

This is what they were spotting! Three Darjeeling B classs locos by three different makes, all running on a spiral. The blue B class' were by Archangel and Harvey Watkins, the Green one was a Roundhouse loco
Now I must ask Sir Haydn to take in a deep breath, and plead with him not to be too distraught and sentimental....

It appears to have been another horror chain reaction on a high level line, whereby the rear wagon derailed and fell off, pulling off everything off in front of it. Luckily the loco somehow appeared to have escaped damage

Meanwhile, PTLR cecil and me were at it again with double headed and topped'n'tailed trains. This one was 8 carriages long, far too long for the run round loops, FFR Mike has said many times that he needs to extend his loops! First train was with Guenevere and Gwydion (on the rear)

Then I got Taliesin out for another run of "The Fairlie Fantastic"

Taliesin and Guenevere sit at the terminus at the top of the spiral, on the front of a lovely long train
Many thanks to FFR Mike and the staff of the Forest Fields Railway for another fantastic afternoon, and once again somehow manageing to get perfect weather again! Hopefully the September steamup will be the same
