Graham,
If I may point out a suggestion to you, When you get to the
Cylinders and are about to Machine the Ports in the Cylinder block,
Stop and remember this Post!,
Instead of Machining the Three Ports as instructed 1.5mm wide X
7mm Long for both Forward & Reverse Ports, and 2mm X 7mm
long for the Exhaust, I suggest you Drill a 1.5mm hole for both
Inlets and a 2mm Hole for the Exhaust.
Then Drill both Port Feeders too the Cylinders in 1.5mm as well.
This is both easier for you too execute!.
This is a brilliant Book and very handy to any Scratchbuilder, and
all the suggestions made within can be used in any Locomotive
you build in future, and believe me, You will build more!.

The only other thing I will suggest is that instead of the Rectangle
Valve Slides in the Drawings, I suggest you use Round Valve Slides
instead.
