SPRINGDRIVE/CLOCKWORK

Post by Crackingjob » Wed Apr 07, 2010 8:59 pm

I am looking for more technical information re Springdrive / Clockwork

I have lots of small chapters in various books ( ie O Gauge Guild handbook 6 garden railways, R E Tustin, and Don Neale etc)

What I am after are articles/books by the likes of Jack Ray, Norman Eagles, Drew Donaldson,Bob Lovell , Percival Marshell
and E F Carter or where I can find out about improved springs/govoners.

It's probably going to be very difficult to do much in clockwork these days because it is now a VERY isolated backwater. The best bet (in my view) would be to get a Meccano motor and gears and use that to make a workable unit, possibly with a tram-style body.

Keep up Brian, i've started...but am seeking more advanced technical details for the garden railway.

I have already tracked down a book by E F Carter and had replies from dedicated Garden Railway Springdrivers...I even kow of one going into 7/8ths!

Thanks for the reply
