here is a wick burner i knocked up in a couple of hours just to see if i could make one. not finnished yet but is close.
needs a filler pipe and some painting

i ran it in marvin this afternoon im very impressed kept up the heat and marvin flew.
this is a pic of the additions. I added a 1/8" copper tube for filling and a large breather that ill put a small plug into, I found I needed this so I could fill it properly from the pipe. it holds 25 mills of meths and burns for about 10 mins. still need to work out how to screw it in place but at the moment its a tight fit and stays in place

That is looking very good Graham.

I know that you have the IP Burner for comparision, and here is my other Meths Burner for comparision as well..

This uses some silicone tube on the pipe which is mounted sideways to allow you to fill up the Meths by syringe, and is held to the rear dragbeam with a threaded stud (which is drilled in the centre for venting), and a nut & washer. This stud is slightly larger than the IP one so a bit more filing of the slot in the dragbeam is required.

Are you going to make a deflector for the front of this burner to even out the flame pattern whilst running outdoors?

Chris I havent thought of doing that but ive run it outside and it kept the heat up great and marvin flew along didnt even strugle going up the slight incline that on my line. it was raining a bit as well so was very impressed. ill try and get a vid this weekend
