Mr Bond's 1/2 Term Holiday...

Post by mhlr » Sun Feb 14, 2010 11:57 pm

...to the MHLR (well, his sister's at Lands End too!). Today, we ran loads of 16mm services along with Micheal from the LLR, and tomorrow, we plan to run Bluebell at Callestick.

So, here's some pictures...

Image
First of all, some modification to the tender was in order (using drinking straws to stop the axles falling out) to get it onto the "right" gauge.

Image
Our loco line up for the day.

Image
'Annie', or River Whatsitcalled as he likes to call it.

Image
Nice weather, flowers starting to come out which is a good sign.

Image
Like I said, good weather.

Image
'Nother veiw. The whistle I recently fitted doesnt work, I had my doubts, it does draw water up from the sight glass. Anyone fitted a whistle to a Willi? Where's the best take off for the valve?

Image
Mr B's Vincent at the top of Maenporth Hill being used as a winch for the funicular railway.

Image
Another shot of the funicular railway.

Image
I REALLY need to fit R/C to Bertie...

Image
Make Andy squirm again.

Image
Another blue saddle tank! Can see Mr B's 16mm scale bunting in the background :)

Image
Nice shot.

Image
Nice shot 2.

Image
Mike's Showmans.

Image
Old Smokey.

Image
Mike's Feanor and his flatbed behind my roller he was running for me.

Image
There is a loco in that shot somewhere.

Image
Mawnan Junction.

Andy was supposed to be coming too, but apparently Boilertite wouldn't bring him

I had that sort of weather yesterday, hence why I had my first steam gala in over 2 years without any failures! but it then rained later on, but i carried on! :D may put pics later if i can be bothered!

(I should really find out when i'm coming down to St Ives shouldn't i?)

Nice pics though! especially the telephoto views!

Hope you don't mind Pete, but I love this shot - loads of NG atmosphere! I've "cropped" it a bit and stuck it in my favourites :D

Thanks for the great comments guys :D

Greg, that shot I was rather pleased with... It's good when I occassionally get super shots like that, finding those special places to get them.
