 Hello Fellow Members,
I was hoping there just maybe one or two Continental gauge 1 Expertise withing our happy band?

at the moment the questions are purely academic...
Firstly I was hoping to avoid any DCC operation..but am told by no less than Mr Dingler himself..that only way to have sound in Dingler products spur 1 is DCC...

As anyone ahd sucsess with any other method of realistic sound (synchronised) in Marklin/Dingler spur 1 e.t.c.

Many thanks in advance for the assistance..i have always loved the little Glaskasten Loco..and at one time had several varients from different companies in HO..(now all gone)

There are a few Gauge 1 examples the best being the Dingler Bavarian offering from 2008?.... so if anyone..should have one of these for sale please get in touch..can not promise anything but would still be nice to hear from you

all the very best Steve :D

Being as the later models are A/C or D/C compatable I cant see that fitting an after market sound like massoth would be a problem? I would try emailing or posting a question on the Massoth board?

The marklin maxi range no longer available was where I started (see the above picture of a rossle)
They had a sort of digital control unit with one small controller assined to each loco. Loads of fun but I allways fancied live steam!

Continental G1 V British G1??

Post by norsk » Wed Nov 11, 2009 7:33 pm

 Hello Again...
I have just sent you a PM re the marklin track...
But your reply re Marklin Maxi..gives me an opportunity to ask a further question or two if i may?

One thing i did not realise Marklin had discontinued Maxi and i did notice Marklin G1 was thin..on there web page...

But on this particular occation i could do with some advice on British G1??and Post haste if fellow memebers would be so kind?
I have a chance to purchase a GI Bachmann Brass J94 tank Loco in nearly new condition..
If i new it could have added (Non DCC) synchronised sound i would have no hesitation(i think) in purchasing...
I said i would give my answer to the seller later tonight at the latest..

Does anyone know anything about G1 and this loco in particular..and if there is available a good sound synchronised system

I would be ever so grateful for any advice.... i am travelling blind most of the time..and do not wish (yet again ) to make very costly mistakes!

Any help/Advice e.t.c. very much appeiciated

all the very best Steve :D

There was a good review of the loco in Garden Rail, it looked good, I don't think you can go far wrong with that. The maxi trak is pretty universal in that I run 16mm scale stuff on it presently so I am sure any gauge one stuff be it british or continental would run well on it. Just prehaps no long long wheel bases on the tight corners
