Since I first got Octoprint fired up in early 2022 it's given me no problems at all. This morning for some unknown reason it demanded my username and password, which I haven't needed to enter for 2.5 years and I have no idea what they are.
I've tried the Octoprint forums which have many threads on the general subject of recovery/reset but all of the "helpful" answers are so full of techy jargon as to be meaningless to a mere mortal like me.
Can anyone point me to something understandable, please?

No, but mine randomly asks me to login, fine for months, then not, just seems to have a mind of it's own.philipy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 3:06 pm Since I first got Octoprint fired up in early 2022 it's given me no problems at all. Re: Octoprint login problem.
Thanks Steve. The two answers I got on the Octoprint forum were still full of jargon and referred me to posts with even more of it! So this afternoon I bit the bullet and flashed a new image onto a brand new sd card and reloaded it. Everything is now fine....EXCEPT it won't talk to the #@%$£*&! printer. It tries all the baud rate and port combinations and then gives up, and Cura also says that the printer won't accept commands. The stupid thing is that if I drag and drop an gcode file into the Octoprint window, it will print perfectly with no issues.
Edited to add I think I've sorted it. It turned out to be a mismatch between the IP addresses in Cura and Octoprint which is why Cura couldn't talk to the printer.

Re: Octoprint login problem.
Both of my Octoprint servers ask for a user name password, have done from day 1.
They are stored on the pi somewhere I think because when I get to the login to server page when I click in "User Name" it comes up with it with a footnote of from this website.
I don't do anything fancy like loading from Cura I just save to a folder from Cura and download from there.
I also have Creality slicer (Cura based) but do not use it now that both my printers are the same model (used to use it for my Ender3V2).
