When will we lose this sign, by the end of the year or sooner. Seems they are determined to satisfy everyone under 55 years. Reason they give is the younger generation don't know the meaning and it will be replaced by a more modern sign showing diesels.
Shame that this is going.

Oh, that is strangely sad, isn't it? Makes sense though, I guess.
I've always rather liked how the cars in road signs look like old Morris Minors, and the motorcyclists look like WW2 dispatch riders...
I wonder if they'll change them on heritage lines, where the train thundering towards the hapless motorist might really look like that!

I am in the same mind as Steve. Would get one or maybe two and see how much they value them in a few years time.

There can't be many people who have seen a roll-film camera that looks like this, but they seem to know what it means:

I think I did see one of them in The Lakes a few years back.
Makes you wonder why they seem to think that they can attack railways all the time. Steam engines are a part of our and the worlds Industrial Heritage and we should be keeping such things in our history, but again our history isn't about what was achieved by all those brilliantly gifted people anymore, but what is happening now in the last 3 decades I am sorry to say.

Why do I think of the bloke climbing the ladder, in a motorcycle display team, when I see the 'new' sign?

I thought the stereotypical locomotive was still a steam engine...
No need to change the US sign of course
