Bachmann Coaches get a repaint
I repainted my Bachmann coaches, originally they were a gawdy canary yellow that just did not please my eye, so I repainted them to a colour more attune to Australian rolling stock.
These carriages are pulled by an LGB loco that I painted blue similar to a loco known as the "Blue Baby" that is at the "Ipswich Railway Workshops" in Australia.
Bit of "dirt" added to steps and verandahs plus a dusting of Matt Black on the roofs.

Very nice! I've always liked the Jackson Sharps.

I have two Bachmann coaches to paint, first one now finished and decals sealed, second one is "WIP"
I would upload a photo, but can't see how, just a link for photos?

Jimmy
Select "post reply" when that opens, look for attachments tab down near the bottom, open that then click the "add files" button and then hunt for your pictures in the file explorer window that opens.
Just be mindful of size, I cheat and send my to mail recipient then save them it automatically re sizes the picture.

That looks really good.
Its a pity that the glazing in my coaches went cloudy for some reason, they were like that when I got them.
Might call it window tinting to keep the harsh Australian sun out, that'll explain it.

did you use any Cyanoacrylate, it is renown for fogging windows.
Re: Bachmann Coaches get a repaint
I seem to recall it may be possible to restore glazing by dipping in clear floor polish. Not tried it myself, or seen it done though.

I hardly ever use Cyanoacrylate all I seem to ever do is glue my finger together with it.
The windows were cloudy when I got the coaches I do not know how or where they were stored prior to me getting them.
At the moment I will live with my "Tinted" windows.

I would suggest that they are not the original Bachmann windows, and that the previous owner has put smoked acrylic sheet or such like in. I have sets of windows and they show a definite lack of flatness where they are moulded to sit into the window apperture. It shows on JimmyB's photo where the light is catching on the windows surface.

They appear to be original as the "glass" has moulded grooves that align directly with the window frames. and the "privacy" glass is correct for the toilet.LNR wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 11:34 am I would suggest that they are not the original Bachmann windows, and that the previous owner has put smoked acrylic sheet or such like in.
