Painting dads army figures

Has any one painted the dad's army figures which colour paint did you use

Hi,
I have a set of the excellent Rob Bennett Dad's Army figures and when they became a little worn in places Rob advised me that he used Tamiya paint Khaki XF-49. Tamiya paint can be a little expensive but easily available in most model shops.
