Welcome, Julie. What a great looking site for a railway. Looking forward to seeing how your railway and village develops.

What a view! You'll be able to get some great pics of trains running with that vista in the background!
Where did I put that uncoupler?

Block work now done, not perfect but with a bit of packing in some places when timber arrives it should be ok. Had to wait to get 2 dry days.
Shed Arrives next week.

That looks just fine Julie, Christmas will be early at your house when your shed is delivered next week. Looking forward to another visit to help with the insulation.

Major civil engineering going on here, Julie. Unavoidable on a sloping site I suppose. Grand view too! Is it a west facing slope? If so you should get some afternoon and evening sun; perfect for watching the railway in action with a wineglass in hand.

Coming along in leaps and bounds. Great start in a very pleasant setting. Be interesting to see how you use the terrain.

It does look a beautiful spot with a lovely rusty corrugated roof over the hedge, ideal for weathering ideas
PS the building opposite the house looks intriguing...

The tree stump is now gone, a few hours digging to expose the roots and the next day to cut through them. A bit of leverage back and for with a bar and the final shove with body weight and over it went.
Making the most of the view now as when the shed arrives it will be blocked out. The site is south facing so gets the sun all day ( when we get sun )lol
A lovely glass of merlot I think when the shed is up.
I will post some pics of the houses I have made soon.

Shed arrived this morning Yippeee. Was worried about losing view, but there was no need, it looks just perfect. A long way to go yet to get railway started, but itβs going to be a great adventure. Havenβt had my glass of wine yet lol.
