That looks simply awesome, some lovely examples of model engineering of all shapes and sizes (was that a working steam air pump I saw on one of the G-scale locos?!) Oh for something like that to happen in the UK...

With live steam 5" and 7.25" is that really likely under H&S restrictions?
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?

What a stunning show! Looks like you would need to be there two days to see everything. Was that a 7.25" guage Baldwin running around the hall?
I really like the steam ferry/riverboat.
The second picture from the end: That loco appears to be brandy fired!

Probably the old sour joke about the UK Government Regulators being the only ones who follow EU regulations to the letter applies here.  Most other EU countries employ a modicum of common sense.

I really liked the steam ferry/riverboat too. I could imagine it chugging up a fjord after connecting with the morning train from Bergen. :D

BTW, I have run into some Brandy that was only fit for firing small steam locomotives.  That was in the days before maturity gave me a more discriminating palate!

7.25" guage WD Alco. You could buy tickets and get a ride around the hall, ie. the green line on the track plan.

I was there on the Friday - once again - and have to say that it really is THE show for the 5"/7.25" folks.

I hung out with the small scale live steam bunch. Sadly, there were fewer commercial stands than last year with some of the usual suspects missing.

But I did get a video of the Regner rack railway loco in action.

And now for some more pics.

Wow, steam heaven. What an amazing show.

Presumably the fire detection system was suitably isolated during this display?
