I'm starting to build a small 7/8th scale line and have run into a snag. I've got Code 200 flat bottom rail and 12mm copper clad sleepers and my soldering irons have trouble with it. Can any one recommend what wattage iron I would need? My biggest iron is 60 watt. Thank you.

Yes agree. It is also brilliant for any odd wiring jobs in the garden, like making alterations or replacing station lamps, etc.Big Jim:101471 wrote:I use a gas powered soldering iron. It seems to be the best of both worlds. Iron tip for slightly more subtle tasks, or blow torch nozzle for more reckless jobs.
Mine came from Aldi of all places and was dirt cheap.
I think Maplin sell them as well.
