Re: Hiding 45mm track.
I know what you mean slick33. A lot of 45mm gauge lines look like the track is made from RSJs rather than rail!! LGB is code 332 rail (0.332 inches high) I'm starting work on a 45mm gauge line to vaguely represent 3ft gauge semi based on the Kettering Iron Stone railways but with a bit of artistic ...

Re: Battery powered loco survey
BTW Just checked a certain persons website to see if he had made any changes since our discussion and spotted this in the introduction. 2022-05-03-20-24-27-156.jpg Bear in mind that he insists his site offers an unbiased evaluation of track v battery power. I don't think I've ever been accused of b...

Re: Hiding 45mm track.
I think you may find that 45mm track can be hidden just as easy as 32mm, it is just how you plant it, this is a view across my railway:
This is the same view from the opposite angle, different lighthouse but in the same position:

Thanks Philip. I've just checked through and can't find any typos, but then after a while I get word blind. I don't suppose you can remember what they were? Rik Rik, just done the quiz again, looking for spelling an incontestabilities: Q 17 - No space between number and Sq Fairly large (up to 100sq...

Though the spraying looks good, a word of warning about using a small box as a spraying booth. As you spray inside the booth, the air inside has no easy escape, the the spray volume could then you circulate as opposed to coat the surface - difficult to explain, but the spry mist has a problem penetr...

Re: Semi-scale BR: The Modernisation Plan
There's not a lot of options in the garden scales when it comes to rtr power units for battery powered models. Even when you make your own mechs as I do, sourcing decent quality gears and motors means the cost is still fairly high. There was no choice with the big diesel, as no suitable commercial ...

As per "Big-Ted" that is what i was advised to use, and did. Apparently it make removal easy, with little or no damage, though that I have not tried.

Re: Live steam at a bargain price...?
I was just browsing through old threads here when this one jogged my memory - sorry for the lack of updates! This order took so long to show up that I had quite forgotten about it by the time it arrived. I did indeed receive a package for this purchase (earlier this year, some months after I placed...

Re: Trickle charging advice
If the batteries were completely drained, and left like that for some time, they may not all charge again, and you should replace any faulty batteries, otherwise this will continually drain the good batteries.

My wargaming mate uses Green Stuff. Like Milliput, it's a two part filler but it's much finer and so can give more intricate detail. I've used it for adding hats and longer dresses to figures to make modern figures look more 1930s https://riksrailway.blogspot.com/2017/05/how-i-modified-some-cheap-f...

Have you contacted the vendor, I am sure they will replace it for you if it was new, otherwise the vendor needs to claim against the courier.

Dose any one have a picture on how you hook up the linkage for the whistle? To run this engine in can i just put it up on wood blocks and run it for 5 mins? If you visit the DJB engineering website http://www.djbengineering.co.uk/whistle-bangham.shtml you will get further information. As for runnin...

Re: New jennie my frist steamer
Not sure you NEED a pressure gauge, and I am sure the instructions will inform how to run without, but I would consider one. I have a DJB whistle on my fowler, as the pressure is taken of the regulator pipework, I had DJB fit it for me, it does need a servo, and in theory should be connected to a &q...
