Fowler

I tested my newly acquired Roundhouse Fowler locomotive on my track for the first time, Some of you may recognise it ;) ;) It chugged nicely along on about 20 PSI. It was one of the spoils that followed me home from my visit to the Exeter garden railway show. <object width="853" height=&qu...

I am contemplating mounting a Cowcatcher on my Roundhouse Fowler, does anyone have any links where these can be purchased?

Thank you.

Some of you may recall this loco i acquired a while ago. Well i replaced the aluminum boiler with a brass boiler i built myself (i have just bought some copper tube and i will eventually replace that with copper too) I added some fittings, readjusted the wheels and built a gas burner for it. Here sh...

If i may add this display is much nicer seen in the flesh, i must confess the pictures in this thread do not do it justice. I am inspired and glad i saw it. By the way Brian, as to our discussion about whether live steam could run on such a small layout, Just for fun i knocked up a similar radius ou...

I am sure that you should be able to find something in the Toy shops. They usually have packs with farm animals in different scales if you search well. I cant remember where i saw it but someone had made cattle wagons with these toy versions.

I was able to get the manufacturer today on the telephone and we spoke at length, i asked him a series of things that have been raised in this thread and he quite frankly answered them and i must say that he seemed genuine. Question : First i asked him why his product does not feature at shows and w...

I have had her for a few years, she was the first Roundhouse Fowler to ever receive the Victorian Maroon livery, I'm not sure how many others have received the same colour after.
Well, i know of one that will soon be in my collection ;)

Re: Coal fired live steam models in 16mm scale

I run all of my coal fired engines at 60 PSI as this is the more economical pressure, it maintains a good fire and uses les water. David Bailey Does higher pressure not mean faster dilapidation of fuel and usage of water? i should assume that you will need more coal fuel to keep the boilers so hot...

UPDATE: The Seller and i have exchanged quite a few mails and quite recently on my request , he sent me a couple of videos where he ran his locomotive on tracks in a workshop. He also informed me that one of the models ran at 25-30 PSI while the other ran as low as 12 PSI , though he also pointed ou...

I found the problem this evening, apparently it was low voltage from the receiver battery pack. The new batteries i had put in only lasted 1 hour  and the voltage had already dropped from 6v to 4.8 v causing the servos to flicker.
A new pack of Duracells solved the problem

Nope, i am out in the middle of nowhere with no other electrical appliances nearby. I am sure its coming from the steam engine itself because i can sometimes see the Servos flicker in rhythm to the engine revolutions.

Engine interfering with RC control

Has anyone experienced this phenomenon before, i just noticed that one of my engines interferes with its RC control in the form of occasional flutters seen on the servos. It only happens if the engine is in motion on live steam. I have tried 2 different RC 2.4 Ghz brand radios systems with the same ...

I have been using Bioethanol for about 2 years now for many of my steam engines, it is odorless, burns clean and i am well satisfied.
