Re: Quarry Hunslet

Following my query and the discussion about oil cans, earlier in the thread, this is what I've ended up with. :D
( please excuse/ignore the little specs of white dust, I forgot to move the loco off the bench when I did some filing! )

The green one looks superb Michael. Lovely work, especially the roof support brackets and the cover panel catches/handles.

Re: Attention LS-Loc Mini Rocket Owners...

Hi Rob, I've moved this from the Video section to Live Steam as being more appropriate. :D I must admit that I've never heard of this loco or manufacturer, but did a quick search and came up with this link, which you may already know about: http://rolywilliams.com/L-S%20Loc%20Mini-Rocket.html It imp...

Re: The Preseli Mountain Railway.

Its also in portrait mode not landscape . There is a free app for iPhones ( I think it is also available for Android) called "Horizon" ( nothing to do with the Post Office!). It automatically takes video's in Landscape irrespective of the angle of the phone. so you can hold the phone vert...

Hi Edwin.
No idea about the answer to your question I'm afraid ( somebody else almost certainly will though), but welcome to the forum. :D

Re: Quarry Hunslet

It's been virtually a month since I posted on this, but things have actually progressed somewhat in that time and it does at least run now! I'm still not entirely happy, but hopeful that the last little hesitation will disappear with some real running in. So this is where I am at, today. The roof is...

That looks very nice Keith.
If I were you and if he is willing, I'd ask him to take a look at the others as well. He clearly enjoyed building this one for you and it will keep his mind ( and fingers ) active, which is only a good thing.

That stationary engine looks very good Drew, I may have to join the "Stationary Engine Club" myself.

I do like the sprung boxes. Have you done any load tests to see what they can cope with without bottoming?

Re: Camera Vehicle

The posted pic looks like an old colour slide from someone's '50s holiday snapshots...... Those early colour processes weren't particularly stable. By now the blue dyes may have faded, leaving a magenta cast to the image, very noticeable in a lot of old colour slides and 8 mm movie film. I've never...

Hi - this looks spot on. What’s the power source; reviews on the product page aren’t particularly helpful! No, not much info on there and the instruction leaflet isn't much more help either, although it is written in better than average quality Chinglish! I took a chance but decided that 8 qu...

SmartWater security marking.

This will only directly apply to people living in Northants ( sorry, rest of the world!). Northants police have a discounted deal on offer, to get a SmartWater security marking kit at less than half price. Apart from using for laptops, phones, etc, it can of course also be used for things like valua...
