The green Sharp Stewart 2-4-0 is rather nice, and any electric loco with coupling rods is always good. Quiz time: What distinctive and unusual feature does the loco with the wooden boiler cladding have in common with Linda, Blanche and Charles? https://youtu.be/tKHu5sBTAfA?t=178 The coupling rods a...

After the last running day Minnie was sent off to Barry Milner for a mechanical overhaul which included new axles front and back new bushes for the back axle along with new crankpins all round and overhauled rods. I should probably clean the front wheels at some point! ./myff/1869086/P4050167.JPG Gl...

I've finally got round to uploading the video of the last two running days. It's not my best video I fear, cobbled together and modified so much it's more like Frankenstein's monster now but who cares? :dontknow: <object width="640" height="480"><param name="movie" valu...

Regarding IP's dreaded plastic roofs my method is to bend them to something close to the intended curve then stick them on with superglue and hold them in place for hours with rubber bands. After a few hours remove the bands and apply more glue on any loose spots then rubber band it again.

Here's the selection from today's running day. After handling the first two running days I left Dylan at home and unleashed Minnie with my P-Way train. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7606/16824349655_ffb8fa332d_c.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7636/16823271631_713814b707_c.jpg https://farm8.stat...

Well, after a long spell without 'proper' internet (long story, not my fault) I'm able to share photos from 15th February, a mere 3 weeks after I wanted to! Hopefully normality has been restored but I wouldn't bet on it. After works attention from her attempt at flight including bending the roof str...

Somehow we braved the cold today to play trains, as my meths fired machine Dylan was out. The old girl was running well until a derailment dragged the whole train off the line, including Dylan. There doesn't appear to be any major damage fortunately although her cab roof is bent and missing one of t...

One has been fitted to my Millie on the bottom of her water gauge and I'd say it's been very useful as I can get reliable readings from the gauge, blow down excess water if I was a bit too enthusiastic when filling her up and draining the boiler at the end of the day is very simple. On the other han...

That's the running days for 2014 done and dusted. Minnie was out as I wanted to test her out following the replacement of her chuff pipe with two straight through pipes and she sounds better (a very subjective matter however) and looks better with a pleasing plume of steam. <object width="640&q...

Three wagons outshopped in a day means I've no excuse to crack on with the VoR coach now. Doesn't look pretty, but it'll do ./myff/1828347/PC090019.JPG I've made the crane work at the last minute just to make it even more fragile! ./myff/1828348/PC090024.JPG If I was redoing the kit I would solder i...
