Are Temu reliable? I've always avoided them because they seem to sell so much varied junk at ridiculously low prices that I assume they are scam/rip off merchants.
They do send you a lot of advertising emails though
So do the others..

Re: Marc Horovitz is Wrong. (IMO)

Marc's opinion.. Your opinion.. Neither of you are necessarily 'right' or 'wrong'. Scale. Gauge. Material you build from. Upper-quadrant, or lower-quadrant, signalling. Shade of green (for your loco's). - Even blue, with a face on the front! None of this is 'wrong'. It is your railway, and it has to...

Possibly keeps him in filament?

I wonder if the lower-end printers can cope with the through-put?

People who have been doing this for a while, seem to spend much time on the 'care and feeding' of the beasts?

Re: Am I aiming too high?

It's the telescoping drive links that throw up a problem to my mind. I don't think rubber hose would work for joints that need to flex as much as a Shay requires. Then again I'm not sure how one might go about it. Maybe with square section brass tube, one inside the other.. That is how the commerci...

Re: Braking systems

A little more on this: The motor controller is programmed to hold, rather than be 'off', when you return the speed control to zero. - This can be altered in programming. One thing I have noticed, compared to the Rx65, is that the speed-change is a lot more responsive (instant) this is something I ha...

It is not an Rx102..

Without knowing the processor, difficult to make a judgement, but not one I recognise.

I was keeping an eye on that offering, but decided it would probably just gather dust. - I am glad you have won it Peter.. I am sure that wagon has gone several shades of abuse darker, than the earlier pictures? It got me to mentally adding up how many cranes I have : At least three, which are as th...

I have not done one, but it looks to be quite simple to control the rotary valve with a servo..
A second servo could perhaps be used on the gas supply?

Re: Braking systems

A generational change in technology..
The motor driver on the Rx65, did not even have a way to monitor back-emf, there is a lot more 'intelligence' in the new receiver/controller.

There is plenty of memory left, and more features will be added over time.

Re: Which Track Manufcturer to go with as of Sep 2023

If buying new, and you have the budget, look for stainless steel. - I am assuming you will be taking power from the track? Much of the track we use in the UK, has been around for years. - 30-40 year old track, is quite common. Most of it is brass, but a mix of brands. You need to be aware of what 'c...

You appear to have the 'French Mustard' version, of filler-primer. - Mine is a much brighter yellow. It must be the English version. :dontknow:

Re: Deltang Tx22 problems and solution

Interference issues: 1. Servos tend to be things like trapped wires, on metal bodied loco's. 2. There are some really dreadful small electric motors out there.. Electrical noise from the motor can get back into the speed control, and confuddle it. A ferrite on the motor leads, and a couple of 0.1uF...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

They could be a victim of the technology bought into? PDF Models were early into these mixed media offerings, so although the printers they use were good for their time, the technology (hence print-quality) has improved with newer models (of printer). There does seem to be a bit of 'alchemy' require...

What societies are you in? - That gets you a little insurance.

£66 will get you 'event' cover from Magnet.

I am not so sure about running live steam on straw bales though? - You do have access to a fire extinguisher etc. I assume?
