A picture would be great but more than likely, it's a 2.1mm DC socket, most of these locos seems to have that arrangement.

I use these chargers for all my electric locos and they work very well:

Hope that's helpful

An inertia wagon would help slow all that down and then have the loco gently puff around the oval in the sunshine... An inertia wagon would be really good on this line. I have 4 of different types and I was about to list one for sale, sadly, all mine are 32mm gauge so won't be of any help. There is...

Great video, thanks for sharing.

Love the loco, looks like it has plenty of added extras and I love the coal train! Look forward to seeing your next video

New build Tram loco

I am a big fan of Trams. One of my early locos at Staple Hill was an IP Shelly which is of course based on a LNER Y6 (I think) Its a favourite with my son and is named after him - as such it get a lot of use and and a lot of love. My issue with this loco is that it was never a narrow gauge loco in t...

Well it's clean so probably not off a steam loco. Looks like a nut for securing a buffer. There is an old trick in the motor trade that used to get played a lot. When someone had a gearbox or engine stripped and laid out neatly on a bench some rotter would add a couple of odd fastings or parts to t...

Does anyone else hate it when this happens?

You have a good running day, 4 or 5 trains out and about with a nice variety of rolling stock. Then you pack everything away and at the last second, you notice this: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/743/32612326000_c346095b0e_h.jpg I'll be getting everything out again this evening and looking for the m...

I can't believe its been 3 months since the last update. Been pretty much confined to the workshop over the winter but with some lovely weather in Devon this weekend I ventured out to awake the garden and railway from their winter slumber. I am hoping to get the heavy work in the garden more of less...

Cat trouble on the line

Has anyone else encountered a local moggie who assumes that your railway is in fact the worlds most expensive cat litter tray?? I have a persistent visitor who has so far not been discouraged with the sonic alarms, repellent powder, water pistol, etc etc.... Short of installing 3rd rail electrificat...

What a beautiful looking loco. The running boards do make a big difference. Well worth the extra effort. Rik PS Was that a daredevil frog at 2:18 in the video? Hi Rik, Sorry for my tardiness in replying, real life has well and truly got in the way of railway matters for the last few weeks! Thanks f...

I think you have had some great advice here. My personal experience echos most of the other posts. I started off couple of years back with a simple circuit of track and a manual Ragleth which proved a great loco and great fun / learning. The gas burner and valve were a bit of an issue but replacemen...

I have some Locoworks running boards for a Lady Anne kit I've yet to build, and find they are rather thin & flimsy. Your running boards look much more solid. What thickness brass sheet have you used here? Chris Cairns[/b] Hi Chris I measured the thickness of the plate under the smokebox which w...

Tiny update! Not much if anything done in the Garden now its colder but plenty happening in the workshop. I have added a new video of the Roundhouse Katie over on the live steam page and here is a little video of Mark and Malcolm's visit to the line last month.... Mark made a better video... I shall...

So its been a good few weeks since my last update but the colder weather has allowed me to make some more progress with Gemini. With the Summerlands Chuffer fitted and some detail parts arrived from Locoworks and Chuffed2Bits, I set about making running boards. Also, thanks to Tony's great advice, t...

Looks good James, if you can get the wagon and loco connected with a fixed link rather than with hook and chain you will get better start/stop results. SSP slomo for your loco is the ultimate though, wish the Lady Anne version was ready! Cheers Tom, Great idea about the fixed link, I think I can fa...

Personally I like being able to see between the frames on my locomotive, like one can on a "real" locomotive. While the slomo is indubitably of higher quality than a "Zecar", I feel that the momentum effect is more realistic when it is the train, rather than the locomotive, that...

Really short mini update. Not much happening in the garden as the weather is pretty bad and I have been focusing on workshop projects which can be seen in other threads but a milestone was reached on Sunday with our first visitors. Mark and Malcolm brought along a car full of locos and a great after...

New Momentum Van for Staple Hill Railway

So a big thanks to Mr Bond as I was reading his topic back along about the momentum van for his line and seeing how much it improved the performance with his Millie, I had to have a go making one for my RH Katie. I will probably fit a slomo to Katie in time but for now, I wanted to have a go at a ne...
