Re: North East Victoria Railway

Cont'd Cleaning up prints and models that were getting thrown out my long suffering QR A van finally got the chop, the body was underthickness when I printed it originally and I had just come to terms with the constant warping in the walls anytime it was outside. eventually it cracked the glue and d...

Re: North East Victoria Railway

Must be just about time for the Bi-Yearly update so will put some words to the page :D After years of neglect the upper end of the line past Marysville was officially abandoned and the track removed. some of the other infrastructure has so far remained in place but the majority has been removed. the...

Re: June 2024 Garden Railway Gallery - ENTER HERE

Scrat, I must say it's nice to see buildings like that in the larger scales. Really looking forward to seeing the entries for this one. Details are always fun to pour over. Not a lot of detail on this one, but here's mine. https://i.postimg.cc/hthvgTzm/IMG-9012.jpg Stunning as always Aaron, You've ...

Re: Accucraft Shay

Definitely an interesting one David I was a bit sceptical with how they were going to use the existing 2 cylinder assembly on such a small shay but all the pictures I've seen are pretty much confirming that its bigger then it should be. The difference between 1:22 and 1:24 is fairly common on most r...

Oh dear Grant now that is a pickle!

Seems a shame to lose all that lovely shade but I must say the town does look particularly lovely in full sun. Getting away with no damage like that id say its a good time to buy a tatts ticket

Absolutely spectacular work Aaron. You've nailed the weathered finish its not too grotty but not shiny either. Another masterpiece

Re: North East Victoria Railway

Quite a big month just passed with Great Southern Steamup which meant that there was of course a flurry of activity to finish last minute projects! It all started after last years choice to run a lashup of 3d printed Australian prototype carriages behind some large modern image diesels which were su...

Re: Simplex Yard Shunter

Will be watching this closely I've got the Phil Sharples kit to do a similar thing but the IP kit looks like a far better start. Does the Chassies feel like it'll have much grunt or will it be only good for a few trucks at a time?

Re: Why do we do it?

Completely fair enough Rod. I also just noticed on his other thread Miles is 13. When I was 13 I've got to admit I was doing exactly the same thing on trainz forums and used to get quite the ribbing for it. That said the group on here is far better and more nurturing and I'm sure he'll get some exce...

Re: BM&LO No. 1

Looks so cool! I love watching ingenious budget builds and this one looks like its going to shape up terrifically. Weren't the original mamod locos all pellet fired? if its good enough to propel a mamod around with a string of wagons it should be good enough to do the job with the oscillator?

Re: Why do we do it?

Not to be rude Miles and I don't want to dissuade you from posting but its generally considered bad forum etiquette to post in old threads that haven't been updated in over 12 months unless the poster updates the thread. As an aside Eric is an excellent modeller and I'm particularly fond of the ligh...

Re: North East Victoria Railway

As always I have been lurking but not posting! After I returned from the UK Alexander and I had a quiet run at home. Once again my terrible infrastructure limited speed limits but we had a good time anyway 352296454_678608687438374_7952093484574307683_n.jpg As always the Steam railcar began an inten...

Re: Sources of Brick sheeting?

Thanks Phillipy I knew someone on here would have the answers! In this case I have a slight advantage as working in 1:24 scale does mean I can share a lot of parts with the dollhouse groups but unfortunately here at least they seem to prefer paper as the material of choice! Will get some of that foa...

Sources of Brick sheeting?

Hi all. I'm starting to gather materials for quite a long suburban scene that will require quite a lot of red brick plastic sheets. I can 3d print 200x200 panels and back them onto corflute but this would be about 6 weeks of printing and maybe $200 worth of filament. I would really rather buy sheets...

Re: North East Victoria Railway

The line was originally inspired by a lot of English layouts and ran a flat loop as I held ambitions of running live steam when I had enough money saved. 13 years later that ambition still hasn't been realised and trains don't really run to that section as I really hate working at ground level. The ...

Re: North East Victoria Railway

Thanks Fellas! There was some serious contemplation and now some regret coming through about not picking the Bundy up but that's life unfortunately. There were a few other additions this holiday so the case is well and truly full. Had an excellent day at NYMR yesterday and rode the 9F but today we m...

Thanks Jake, glad you approve! Just think, you are 'just around the corner' from me, in Australian terms. If you have a day off in your diary, just drop me a note and pay me a visit. The thought did cross my mind! I really should have been better organised and tried to meet a few forum members arou...

Re: North East Victoria Railway

Few pictures from the Llangollen show, seemed to be an extremely healthy turnout with some fantastic traders. We didn't realise there was a delayed opening for purchasing tickets at the door and so waited quite a while to get in but that's alright. Would highly recommend people buy the "early b...
