I should get around to getting some people for my little railway. The ones from modeltown seem about the most reasonable. Any other ideas?

I think busy bodies do them relativly cheap.

errr, no, not £12 a pop or whateva it is, Model Town are probably the best option if you're good at painting figures...

Busy bodies look good, but I don't have the money at the mo. Not sure if I am good at painting figures or not - never done it before

If you wanna do summut different (like Pauly did), try Fimo characters: http://www.wendoverlightrailway.com/ind ... _Modelling

1. Cheap, only cost of time and the Fimo itself.
2. Totally personal to your railway, and you can say you made them yourself!

I did think of that, then I found out the price of fimo and realised I didn't have a clue what I was doing!

Looking into doing it yourself makes you realise the the busy bodies ones are very good value for the amount of effort that must go into each one.

I bought some tamiya figures, 1:20th for their F1 car pitcrew. The figures are rather tall for 1:20th though and good for 1:19th. I was planning on hacking them around and maybe modding them with milliput, and moulding a few extras using RTV and resin.

Ok, just ordered a few model town figures, so I will see what they are like in a few days.

Ordered man with a shovel, man on a ladder, and a family group sitting down.

A word of advise. When you paint them use matt finish & keep the tones muted. Then they'll look far more realistic than brightly coloured shiney ones.

OK, I got some from modeltown. My fingers are a bit fat for painting little things, but this is how I got on...

Family group, I will stick to individual characters in future, this was a bit fiddly for me
