Electronic Speed Control recommendation

Post by DVT Dweller » Sun Mar 10, 2013 10:44 am

Im just in the process of rebuilding on of my battery loco's. Part of the rebuild will be converting form manual to RC, I want to use my exsisting Planet t5 transmitter and receiver with the ESC so it needs to work with a standard 2.4ghz receiver.

The motor is an MFA 540/1 4.5-15v and the stall current is 8.24A and the standard loaded running current is 2.85A. The power pack is made up of 10x AA cells.

I would like it to also be able to control the lighting with the direction of travel.

Dad has a Baguley diesel fitted with an Electronize ECU and Im not a big fan of it, I dont think its responsive enough or control.

What would the guys out there recommend?

I use the M'Troniks loco micro viper, the only downside of it is its only rated up to 12v, which is a bit of a sod when my motor can take 24v!
If the max for yours is 15v it should be ideal for you.
