Stolen 16mm locos and stock

Post by MikeD » Sat Feb 02, 2013 7:13 pm

I just discovered this morning that most of my 16mm garden railway stock has been stolen - I'm based in West London, UK. If anyone sees any of this lot up for sale, I'd be pleased to hear about it! Obviously the standard Accucraft stuff there's not much point in looking for, unless it happens to be exactly this combination. The older stuff, which I'm actually more upset at losing, is more individual, though...

Taken are:

1 x Roundhouse Pooter 0-4-0T, meths fired, black, r/c, named "Cugel". has Tenmille centre couplers and a slighly bent and chipped paint front left footplate!
1 x Fendyke 'Fenman' 0-4-0 battery loco, painted red
1 x Mamod original 0-4-0 SL1 modified with Shirley meths burner, green
1 x Accucraft Baguley, with new metal chassis, converted to battery r/c using Cliff Barker components (I still have the control unit, though!)
1 x Accucraft 'Lawley' maroon with r/c
1 x Accucraft 'Lyn', manual
1 x Accucarft 'Lew', radio control
2 x Accucraft L&B SR brown bogie open wagons
1 x Accucraft L&B SR brown bogie brake van
4 x Accucraft L&B SR brown 4w opens
4 x Accucraft L&B SR brown 4w vans
1 x Accucraft W&L Saloon coach
1 x Accucraft W&L Brake Composite coach

Ba$!@#ds! I am very sorry for your loss and will keep an eye out but they will probably scrap the lot unfortunately.

That's really sad news, so sorry. I will keep an eye out.
Just out of interest was there anything else in the shed worth taking or did they only target the train items. Wondering if they knew they were there.

Might be worth e-mailing and ringing a few second hand dealers to keep their eye out.

There was other stuff there - lawn mower, lots of garden tools etc. - also some other railway stuff - 5 of the Accucraft L&B coaches (maybe too awkward to carry?) and various other part built items that were left. All the complete locos have gone, though. Some old Hornby O Gauge rolling stock and Big Big train stuff was also left behind. It definitely looks like whoever took it knew what they wanted... (they also found all the r/c transmitters for the steam locos...)

This stuff and any replacements will kept much more securely now!

Sounds like they really knew what to take.
I have put it up on the Unofficial Mamod forum as there are garden railers on there as well.

Would it be too late to get a notice in the forthcoming SMT magazine?
