Another crane

A recent inspiration/aberration, namely a US-made kit of a crane designed, apparently, by that well-known railway pioneer Leonardo da Vinci. It's on a Swift Sixteen well wagon.

Very interesting!!
The pendulum movement should take a few heads off.
I like cranes too....try this one...

Excellent model, presumably scratchbuilt? Does it operate?
The da Vinci model is part of a crane train what I built for my portable layout 'Walmer Bridge'. It includes a Wrightscale Pechot crane, a Pretania steam winch, an engineering wagon and a support coach.

My travelling crane is not built to operate, but it does rotate and rise/fall with undulating track levels. It is scratch built but uses a Airfix signal gantry or footbridge as the jib (I can't remember which now as I built it some 30 years ago!)
Another 'crane' I built uses a 'Italeri' HIAB kit on a scratch built well wagon. The exhibition layout it was built to run on represented a preserved line and I thought this would be the most useful piece of equipment any preservation society could aspire to.

Thanks for the link CJ, but GN15 is not for me!
I have so much stuff now in 16mm and Emett items too I can't get involved in another gauge. Everything I make will be 32mm gauge unless for someone else.
